Youth Group

Although few in number, the youth group shul-in was loads of fun! The five girls in attendance greatly enjoyed making youth group shirts and spending the night with our advisor, Stephanie Rapp. (I know I definitely enjoyed listening to her stories of all my favorite actors.) We got to have girl talk while blasting Never Shout Never, a commonly loved band, and really getting to know each other.

We also made sure our shirts let everyone know that the SRTYG kids truly are "Yeti" for this.  For those who don't know, our mascot is the yeti, or a blue Elmo as it came to be drawn.

We also got to act like little kids as we curled up with ice cream and watched Monsters vs. Aliens with Rabbi Emily. The night proved to be too much fun for her, as she did wind up falling asleep on us. Not soon after the rest of the group went to bed too.

There were bagels to be eaten and shirts to be finished the next morning so we didn't want to stay up too late. All in all, I'd say the shul-in was definitely a success as our first youth group event. We really got to connect and spend time with our good friends from Hebrew School, which is what youth group is really all about. I know I can't wait for our next youth group event, where we will be voting for leadership positions so we can really get our youth group going!
