Help us realize SRT’s true potential – for worship and spirituality, growth and learning, and friendship and support. For those of you who do not know me – my name is Michelle Interlicchio, and I am a member of the Board of Trustees. This past Sunday I attended a URJ (Union for Reform Judaism) one-day conference in Manhattan. I attended the membership track of the conference. I found much of the information very useful. However, one thing that kept being mentioned was the need to use our congregants as ambassadors and hosts. Being a member of Sinai Reform Temple is akin to being a part of a larger family, our Temple family. We need every member of our congregation to think of SRT as family. Every congregant needs to take an active part in both promoting our Temple to friends and neighbors looking for a place to worship and to “take ownership” of the Temple. A change of mindset is required – we take care of our homes and when we have guests we are hosts. We need to apply this sense of ownership to SRT. When we have visitors to SRT, we are hosts – we need to make sure our guests feel welcome. When something needs to be fixed or help is needed, be it maintaining our yard, helping in the thrift shop or making phone calls, we all need to pitch in. We all have particular likes and dislikes, skills and talents. We all have a limited amount of time. By recognizing this and by working together as a team we can accomplish anything and really take ownership of our Sinai Reform Temple. Help us realize SRT’s true potential – for worship and spirituality, growth and learning, and friendship and support. Offer to volunteer and help – there’s something for everyone! I guarantee you will get back way more than you give. Please call the Temple office at 631- 665-5755 or e-mail srtoffice@gmail.com and leave your name and contact information, and any particular area where you’d like to help. I look forward to working with you and getting to know you better. |

Tikkun Leil Shavuot- Learning Experience for Shavuot
On Shavuot it is customary to study well into the night...We won't go so late into the night, but we will begin on Tuesday May 18th at 8pm. We will be studying the Book of Ruth on Erev Shavuot, which is customary to read during this holiday. It is a beautiful story of faith and friendship and tells one of the most famous stories of conversion to Judaism. Please join us for a wonderful evening of learning and celebration. And since Shavuot is a dairy Holiday, of course we'll have cheesecake to celebrate! This learning opportunity is open to everyone.
Our Shavuot celebration will continue on Friday, May 21st with the reading of the "Ten Commandments" from the Torah and the Confirmation of Chelsea Behrens, Elliot Courtney and Matthew Hausmann. Please come to show your support and celebrate with these wonderful students!
