RELIGIOUS SCHOOL

It’s hard to believe how fast the Religious school year has been flying by. I know that our students are having a great time and also learning a great deal. In addition to all of our standard studies, this month we’ll celebrate Tu B’shevat together and also begin our preparations for Purim.

Also, this month the Parent Council is conducting a wonderful FUNdraiser that will not only support our Religious School, but also supports Israel. Our parents have put together a great catalog of 14 different Israeli food products. Each item is imported from Israel and will therefore help us to learn more about Israel as we appreciate some delicacies from our homeland! All the information you need is on the flyer that you’ll find right here in Temple Topics. If you have
any questions, please contact Dr. Louis Teitelbaum or myself. You can submit your order by email and then mail or drop off a check to the Temple office (or you can simply mail the order and check together to the office). We will be accepting  until February 29th and all the food will be ready for pickup at the Temple beginning at services on Friday, March 9th. If you are unable to make it to the Temple, delivery can also be arranged. Thanks in advance for supporting our
school and supporting our students!

And now for a few “odds and ends...”

We are asking all of our students to bring their own snacks for “hafsekah” (our break). This will guarantee that your child is eating what you want him or her to eat. However, please know that there will be a modest snack available if any of the children forget their snack.

As a reminder, please make sure you bring your child to school by 9am on Sunday mornings and by 5:30pm on Tuesdays. We need all of our students to arrive on time so that we don’t lose any precious teaching moments! If you know that your child will be later than 15 minutes or that your child will be absent from school, please contact the Temple office (631-665-5755) or send me an email (srtrabbi@gmail.com) so that we can be prepared. Additionally, I’d like to remind you that if your child brings a cellphone to school, it must remain off while he or she is in class. Please do not send your child with other electronic gadgets that can become a disturbance.
Finally- Please mark your calendars that our Purim celebrations will be on Friday, March 9th at 7:30pm and the Megillah reading will take place during Religious School on Sunday, March 11th at 9am and will be followed by tons of fun! We look forward to seeing ALL of our students at both of these celebrations!
