Did you know that at every Temple Board Meeting we pass an envelope around to collect Tzedukah? Suggestions are made to which charity we donate to. Recently we have donated to the Israel Carmel Fire Fund, The URJ Disaster Relief Fund for victims of Japan’s earthquake and Tsunami Victims and the Girl Scouts Operation Cookie, where a case of Girl Scout cookies are sent to our Troops overseas. In the past we have donated to the Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach, Chanukah Toys for Tots and Supplies for Success. If you have a favorite charity that you want us to support, please let me know and we will discuss it. This month, April, we will start the Supplies for Success campaign, where we supply indigent youngsters in our community with the
much needed school supplies.

Last year, in an Island wide campaign we supplied 2,500 children with filled backpacks. Even if you are not a member of the Temple Board you can still contribute to our monthly charity, just leave your donation in my mail box at Temple.

College Outreach sends small packages to your college students to help them feel as if they were home.

                              

Help us help them! Send your child's name and complete school address to Deirdre at dede1957@optonline.net or Natalie at Nberhumoglu@aol.com.

                   

Please send information as soon as possible so that we can send them a gift by the next holiday.

There are many people on Long Island who don't know where their next meal is coming from. Many work, but do not earn enough to feed their families. Fortunately, there are food pantries, where those in need can go for assistance. Sinai Reform Temple would like to help by keeping the Bay Shore Food Pantry's shelves full of non-perishable food items. Please donate to the Temple, as many times as possible, non-perishable food items so that we many continue this worthy cause.
